Long-Term Care Insurance Options for Caregivers in Orange County: A Comprehensive Guide

Are you a caregiver in Orange County looking for long-term care insurance options? You may be able to find coverage through your employer, or you may need to look into other options. In this article, we'll discuss the different types of long-term care insurance available, as well as the services offered by the Amada Senior Care Orange County team. When it comes to long-term care insurance, there are two main types of coverage: lifetime coverage and limited coverage. Limited coverage plans typically last for three, five, or ten years.

It's important to note that some employers offer long-term care plans, which may be more practical. Approximately 60 percent of the organization's services focus on the caregiver (three-quarters of whom are unpaid family members), connecting them with support groups or dementia specialists, or helping them find a center or caregiver. To further alleviate cost-related issues, the Amada Orange County team is pleased to offer their placement services free of charge. According to the Orange County Council on Aging, this number may increase for centers that specialize in caring for residents with Alzheimer's disease or other dementia. This project is funded in part through a grant from the California Department of Aging, allocated by the Orange County Board of Supervisors and managed by the Office on Aging.

The Orange County Social Services Agency does not make recommendations or refer long-term care facilities.

Types of Care Available

Paid professionals or caregivers can provide a wide range of home services (known as formal care) through home care or home health agencies, or family and friends (what is known as informal care). For most, long-term care will consist of the assistance of a caregiver to help them get out of bed or at home.
